Who this kit is for
The OVO Standard kit is for a mostly bare-floor home with standard low-voltage inlets that needs a complete, simple set of tools and a switched hose. It is the entry point in OVO’s kit line, below the Deluxe Plus (which adds an air-driven carpet beater) and the Carpet Deluxe (electric). Choosing from four hose lengths lets you match your inlet spacing instead of settling for 30 ft.
It is not for carpeted homes. The combination tool cleans rugs by suction alone, with no brush roll.
What the specs tell you
Retail listings give a low-voltage hose with handle switch and swivel (35 ft here; 30, 40 and 50 ft siblings), a 12 in combination floor tool with retractable bristles and an anti-static cloth, a telescopic steel wand of 25.5 to 38 in, a dusting brush, upholstery tool, crevice tool, accessory bag and chrome hose hanger.
The combination tool is the heart of a bare-floor kit: bristles down for hardwood and tile, bristles up for low rugs and mats. The anti-static cloth is meant to pick up fine dust that static would otherwise hold to the floor. The telescopic wand adjusts for user height. The handle switch stops and starts the unit; the swivel keeps the hose from twisting.
Not stated: hose diameter, whether the hose is crushproof (the Deluxe Plus hose is described as crushproof; this one is not), and tool weights.
The length choice is the one decision this kit asks of you. Thirty feet suits a condo or a well-planned house with closely spaced inlets. Thirty-five is the common all-rounder. Forty and fifty are for sparse inlets and big open rooms, at the expense of weight and a little suction at the tool. Because the rest of the kit is identical across lengths, you are deciding on one number.
Fit and compatibility
The low-voltage hose has two contacts that close the 24V start circuit in a standard inlet, with the handle switch interrupting it. It carries no 120V, so you cannot add an electric powerhead to this hose later. The tools fit the kit’s own wand. An air-driven turbine head from any brand should fit a standard wand if you want to add carpet agitation later, since it needs only airflow; confirm the neck size.
What’s in the box, and what you still need
In the box: the hose, 12 in combination floor tool, telescopic wand, dusting brush, upholstery tool, crevice tool, accessory bag and chrome hanger. You need a power unit with standard low-voltage inlets. A hose sock is separate, and so is any carpet beater.
Warranty and support
Two years per the listing. OVO’s warranty documents cover the original owner with proof of purchase and do not mention marketplace purchases either way. OVO (Nadair, Laval, Quebec) offers phone and email support and notes no parts or repair service in Quebec after sale.
Living with it
Flip the bristles down on hard floors and up on rugs. Wash or replace the anti-static cloth as it loads up; the record does not say whether replacements are sold. Hang the hose loosely on the chrome hanger and keep the wall-end contacts clean. Retract the wand to store it.
What we’d verify before buying
- Hose diameter: not stated.
- Crushproof construction: not stated for this hose.
- Replacement anti-static cloths: availability not stated.
- Whether a third-party turbine head fits the wand, if you plan to add one.
- Which length you actually need.
