Who this unit is for

The OVO 750ST-35H is for owners of very large homes, or homes with awkward, long pipe runs, who want the most suction OVO offers. OVO rates it for about 10,000 sq ft and 10 inlets. If you have a three-story house with the power unit in the basement and inlets at the far end of the top floor, this is the OVO unit with the most in reserve.

It is also the one to pick if you run an electric powerhead on thick carpet and want the strongest pull at the end of a 35 ft hose. The trade for that power is noise: at 68 dB it is the loudest unit in OVO’s line as recorded.

What the specs tell you

OVO lists 750 air watts and 146 in of water lift from a 2-stage, 5.7 in thru-flow motor with soft start and stop. Air watts combines airflow and suction and is the best single predictor of carpet cleaning. Water lift is sealed suction, the force that keeps dirt moving when the pipe climbs and turns. At 146 in, this unit has more sealed suction than any NuTone PurePower unit and is close to VacuMaid’s largest 8.4 in motor units in our records.

The 68 dB rating is 5 dB above the 700ST-35H in the same chassis. The difference comes from the motor working harder, and it is the main reason to buy the 700 instead if your home does not need the extra reach.

Collection is hybrid cyclonic: bagless with the 35 L canister, or bagged with an FD-22.5L (5.8 gal) disposable bag. The washable FP-12 permanent filter is mandatory either way. Bagged mode is cleaner at change time; bagless mode avoids consumables.

Not published: CFM and weight. CFM is the airflow component and would help predict bare-floor tool performance; weight matters for anchoring the bracket.

Fit and compatibility

Standard 2-inch central vacuum pipe. OVO lists both low-voltage and direct-connect electric inlet systems. A low-voltage wire socket is included for the 24V control circuit. Power is plug-in 120V with an attached cord on a 15 A circuit per OVO’s manual. Not hardwired.

Exhaust outside is recommended, not required. The MUSUP wall bracket is included. The unit measures 12.91 in deep by 30.20 in high by 12.52 in wide, the same shell as the 700ST-35H.

What’s in the box, and what you still need

In the box: the power unit, MUSUP wall bracket, one FD-22.5L disposable bag, the FP-12 permanent filter, attached power cord and a low-voltage wire socket.

Not included: hose and attachments (unless the kit variant), PVC pipe, fittings and inlets, and an exhaust vent cap. On a replacement job you need only a hose and tools that match your inlets. On a new install, add an installation kit and, if venting out, an exhaust cap and a muffler if you want to trim the noise.

Warranty and support

OVO covers parts for 10 years and labor for 1 year, with an optional paid extension to 25 years. The warranty is for the original owner, is non-transferable, requires proof of purchase plus an installation invoice from a qualified installer per OVO’s warranty page, and is for residential use only. Repairs by unauthorized personnel void it. The permanent filter must be replaced every 2 years and bags changed at least twice a year to keep coverage.

OVO’s warranty page and manuals do not mention Amazon or any other marketplace, so coverage on a marketplace purchase is not stated either way. Registration is offered but not stated as required. OVO (Nadair, Laval, Quebec) notes that no parts or repair service is available in Quebec after the sale.

Living with it

Bags are OVO FD-22.5L; the permanent filter is the FP-12, machine washable, replaced every 2 years. Change bags at least twice a year as OVO requires. In bagless mode, plan on dumping the canister outdoors and rinsing the filter regularly, because a 750 air watt motor pulls fine dust hard against it.

At 68 dB, put this unit in a garage or on an exterior utility wall and vent it outside. Soft start and stop spares your powerhead belt the jolt of a hard start.

  • HEPA rating: not stated.
  • Whether the listing is the ST or the SM (smart) variant.
  • Marketplace warranty coverage: not addressed in OVO’s documents.
  • Exhaust vent cap and muffler, which you will need to source separately.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the OVO 750ST-35H and the SM750-35H?

Per OVO, the SM750 shares the same specs but adds 3-speed app control and can bypass the low-voltage system. The ST unit reviewed here is the standard version.

How many inlets can it run?

OVO's spec sheet rates it for 10 inlets and about 10,000 sq ft.

Is it loud?

OVO rates it at 68 dB, which is higher than the 700 (63 dB) and 630 (60 dB) units. Mount it away from living space.

Can it run bagless?

Yes. It is a hybrid: dump the 35 L canister or use an FD-22.5L bag. The FP-12 permanent filter is required in both modes.

Does it come with a hose?

No. Hose and attachments are sold separately or in a kit variant.

What circuit does it need?

OVO's manual specifies a 15 A, 110-120 VAC circuit; the unit plugs in with an attached cord.

Should you buy the OVO 750 Airwatts Heavy Duty Hybrid Central Vacuum, 35 L / 9.25 gal bottom-load canister?

Buy it if…

  • →You have a very large home or a long, tall pipe run that smaller units struggle with
  • →You want maximum suction headroom for an electric powerhead on thick carpet
  • →The unit will live in a garage or outbuilding where noise is not a concern

Pick something else if…

  • →Your home is under 6,000 sq ft; the 700 or 630 units cover it more quietly
  • →The mounting wall backs onto a bedroom
  • →You want app control or multiple speeds; that is the SM750 variant, not this one
