Who this unit is for

The OVO 630ST-25H is for the typical two-story or single-story home with 5 or fewer inlets. OVO rates it for about 5,000 sq ft. It is the entry point in OVO’s hybrid line and the quietest, which makes it a sensible pick when the power unit has to live in a basement or utility room near occupied rooms.

It suits replacement buyers who have standard 2-inch pipe and low-voltage inlets and want to keep their existing hose and tools. OVO also sells it bundled with an attachment kit for new installs.

What the specs tell you

OVO lists 630 air watts and 122 in of water lift from a single-stage, 4.2 in thru-flow motor with soft start and stop. Air watts predicts carpet cleaning power at the end of the hose; water lift is sealed suction and governs how well the system holds up over long, tall pipe runs. Both numbers are a step below OVO’s 700 and 750 units, which use a bigger 2-stage motor. For a compact 5-inlet layout that step down will not show. For a long single run to a far upstairs bedroom, the larger units keep more in reserve.

The 60 dB rating is the lowest in OVO’s residential line as recorded, and lower than every NuTone or VacuMaid unit we have figures for.

Collection is hybrid cyclonic. Run it bagless and dump the 25 L canister, or fit an FD-12.5L (3.2 gal) disposable bag for a cleaner change. The machine-washable FP-8 permanent filter is mandatory in both modes.

CFM and weight are not published. CFM is the airflow component and tells you more about bare-floor and upholstery tool performance; weight matters for mounting hardware.

Fit and compatibility

Standard 2-inch central vacuum pipe. OVO lists both low-voltage and direct-connect electric inlet systems; a low-voltage wire socket is included for the 24V control wiring. Power is plug-in 120V with an attached cord; OVO’s shared manual for the ST series specifies a 15 A, 110-120 VAC circuit. Not hardwired.

Exhaust outside is recommended but optional. The MUSUP wall bracket is included. The unit measures 12.91 in deep by 25.39 in high by 12.52 in wide, so it needs about 5 in less wall height than the 35 L models.

What’s in the box, and what you still need

In the box: the power unit, MUSUP wall bracket, one FD-12.5L disposable bag, the FP-8 permanent filter, attached power cord and low-voltage wire socket.

Not included: hose and attachments (unless you buy the kit variant), PVC pipe, fittings and inlets. Nothing in the record mentions an exhaust vent cap, so assume you supply one if venting outside.

Warranty and support

OVO gives 10 years on parts for the motor, electronic module and body, with 1 year of labor and an optional paid 25-year extension. The warranty is for the original owner only and is non-transferable. Proof of purchase is mandatory, and OVO’s warranty page also asks for an installation invoice from a qualified installer. Residential use only. Repairs by unauthorized personnel void it. The permanent filter must be replaced every 2 years and bags changed at least twice a year to keep coverage.

OVO’s warranty page and manuals say nothing about Amazon or other marketplaces, so coverage of a marketplace purchase is neither promised nor excluded. Registration is offered but not stated as required. OVO states that no replacement parts or repair service is available in Quebec after the sale.

Living with it

Bags are OVO FD-12.5L. The permanent filter is the FP-8, machine washable, to be replaced every 2 years under the warranty. Change bags at least twice a year even if they are not full; OVO makes that a warranty condition. In bagless mode, emptying the 25 L canister is a lift-and-dump job and the filter will need rinsing more often.

Soft start and stop is kind to electric powerhead belts. At 60 dB, this is the OVO unit we would pick when the mounting wall is close to a bedroom, but a garage or utility room is still the better home for any power unit.
