Who this unit is for

The InterVac CondoVac IVD660H, now sold as the InterVac Pro, is for condos, apartments and small homes where the power unit has to disappear into a closet or a wall. It is under 20 in tall and under 8 in deep, with an in-wall sibling (IVD660F) that needs only 3.875 in of depth. InterVac rates it for 3,000 sq ft.

For the size, its suction figures are strong, which is why it is a serious option rather than a compromise. The trade-offs are a 2 gal bag, a 70 dB rating, and a 2-year warranty.

What the specs tell you

InterVac lists 660 air watts, 134 in of sealed water lift and 121 CFM maximum from a flow-thru motor with 1,526 W input. Air watts predicts carpet cleaning at the tool; 660 matches full-size units like NuTone’s PP6501. Water lift is sealed suction; 134 in is more than enough for a condo’s short pipe run. CFM is airflow; 121 is fine for bare floors. InterVac also publishes working figures, 86 in and 42 CFM, which is unusual and useful: those describe the unit with air flowing, closer to real use.

Noise is 70 dB. In a garage that is unremarkable; in a hallway closet it will be heard.

Collection is bagged only: a Y20 HEPA-type 5-layer disposable bag of 2 gal / 7.5 L, behind a Y25 motor filter and in front of a Y50 exhaust filter. Three stages of filtration are why InterVac is comfortable with indoor exhaust. The small bag is the trade for the small body. The record does not state a certified HEPA rating.

Amps conflict: the product page says 15.2 A, the manual says 12.5 A at 120 V. Weight conflicts: 14 lb on the page, 11 lb in the manual.

Fit and compatibility

Standard 2-inch pipe. Low-voltage inlets only; direct-connect electric is not listed. Plug-in 120V on a 6 ft cord; not hardwired. At 15.2 A (page figure) it wants its own circuit.

Exhaust outside is optional; the exhaust filter is standard and the K-365 outside exhaust cover is an add-on. Surface mount with side panels on the included bracket; the flush-mount version uses the K-385 frame. Dimensions are 19.44 in high by 10.5 in wide by 7.63 in deep, with 3.875 in in-wall depth for the flush version.

What’s in the box, and what you still need

In the box: the power unit, 6 ft power cord, one Y20 dust bag, one motor filter, one exhaust filter and the mounting bracket.

Not included: the K-385 flush-mount frame, hose and tools, the K-365 outside exhaust cover, and pipe, fittings and inlets. InterVac sells a 35 ft hose kit separately.

Warranty and support

InterVac gives 2 years on the CondoVac line and 30 days on accessories. Dust bags, filters, tools and hoses are excluded, and using non-genuine bags or filters voids the unit warranty. Coverage is for the original purchaser with proof of purchase; registration is recommended and InterVac asks that you register before a claim.

Products sold outside the US are as-is with no warranty. InterVac Design is in Palm City, Florida, with tech support by phone and email.

Living with it

Expect frequent Y20 bag changes; 2 gal is small. Check the Y25 motor filter at each bag change and replace the Y50 exhaust filter when it darkens; the record gives no intervals. Use genuine InterVac parts to keep the warranty.

At 70 dB, put it in a closet with a solid door, or in a garage or utility room if you have one, and consider the K-365 cover to vent outside.
